Astoria Values Community Center is proud to present the Amusement Park Engineering workshop. Here children will be taught the foundation for STEM related skills and spatial-reasoning. This workshop will aid in the developing of science and math skills, as well as collaborative working with peers. Colorful pieces of varying sizes allow for the smallest hands to put together the attractions at this amusement park. Kids will experiment with tires, tracks, bumps, curve, slopes, and numerous other pieces as they construct the rides.
Along the journey they will subconsciously learn the physics and reasoning behind their favorite rides at the amusement parks they visit with their families. Varying weight and sizes of the pieces encourage creative building by the children as they experiment the effect of the geometry of the coaster on the cart that goes through it. In other words, children will be learning STEM skills while having fun!
