Astoria Values Empowers Women in the Community
Astoria Values was created to serve the Community. The best way to serve the community is by empowering the fabric which holds the family unit together. By empowering Women and arming them with the skills that they need to build confidence in the English speaking abilities and networking skills; we have been honored to have played a transformative role in the lives of families in our robustly diverse community.
Tea Talks is a conversation group that meets every Friday in the afternoon and is designed to be a, “safe zone” for women who want to improve their English language skills in a non judging environment. It is a, “women’s only” group and is unique in that we provide child care for these women while they engage in their, “me” time. Women are encouraged to bring their children who play with our volunteers in the room next door while they learn English and transform their lives.
If your organization would like to be involved in sponsoring Tea Talks, please reach out to our Executive Director Mrs. Fatima Zahra Lakrafli at firstname.lastname@example.org.
